Alps Canoe Tour

Grisons & Tyrol

We ride the Inn and the Lech with special hose canoes. This weekend adventure is also suitable for beginners, since all participants are trained professionally! In contrast to rafting, in which a certified operator controls the boat, the participants learn to navigate the boat themselves through the water. There are always two people in the same boat who can take turns steering. The correct paddling and behavior in whitewater is practiced, as well as reading the currents. This tour can be seen as a basic training in white water! We spend the evenings around the campfire in our tipi village. No mass tourism, just our group exclusively in this special and remote atmosphere. The crackling of the evening fire and the rustling of the river make us forget the everyday life of civilization.

After your arrival on Friday evening we get a theoretical introduction to river morphology. On Saturday, the first day, we first practice steering and correct handling of the paddles on a lake as well as getting into the boat after capsizing. Immediately afterwards, the first section of the river begins: We drive the Inn in the Lower Engadine, a nearby valley with an easy section of river in the beautiful nature of Switzerland. If the water level is too low, we can alternatively get into the Inn right at our camp! An equally beautiful white water trail that is otherwise only suitable for advanced riders.

On the last day we drive together to the Lech, one of the last unspoilt wild rivers in Europe! A one and a half hour drive that pays off, because the Lech is the optimal river for our white water canoes. The beautiful river has a low to medium level of difficulty between WW1 and WW3 (depending on the water level). A great natural spectacle and a real adventure. The rustic surroundings and the wild mountains of the Lech Valley give us the feeling of being in Canada!
